Since 1995, Terry and Beth Slocum have been serving the dental needs of Cartersville. You can be certain that the familiar faces of our staff will greet you at each visit. We want to earn your trust and for you to have a comfortable and expedient visit so that you choose us for your family dental home. Patients often say that the reason they choose us is because the voice they hear over the phone is friendly and knowledgable. It is a simple business mantra- treat people with respect, stand behind your services, be gentle, and your patients will return and tell their friends. We are happy to see new patients for long term care or for dental emergencies. Our office is grateful to Cartersville for it’s support and we hope to enjoy many more years serving you.

We practice minimally invasive dentistry. This philosophy is driven by the desire to only perform as much dentistry is as needed, to have healthy teeth, gums and a bright smile. Our office has been paperless or all-digital since 2000. What this means for you, is safely stored records, efficient appointments, and low dose radiation from pictures taken of your teeth and jaws. Another reason to consider us is that we do not refer patients to specialist very often. We place implants for dentures or single tooth placement, take out wisdom teeth, perform molar root canal therapy, and see children for restorative needs–One place for all of your dentistry.

Terry Slocum

DMD

Terry Slocum DMD, is married to Beth Slocum, and together they have four children. They attend Sam Jones Church in Cartersville. Terry has degrees from Auburn University and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and has been practicing in Cartersville since 1995.

Dr. Slocum has been named as an Implant Director for the American Academy of Facial Esthetics Place Implant Now courses and instructs dentists at Todays Dentistry for implantology coursework and hands on training.

His hobbies are fishing for striper on the Etowah River, sailing, flying, dirt bikes and woodworking

Elizabeth Slocum

DMD

Elizabeth Slocum DMD grew up in Virginia, graduated from Radford University, and worked as a chemist before returning to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where she graduated in 1994. She and her husband, Terry, also a dentist, practice together in Cartersville, Georgia. They have four children and are actively involved in their community.

Dr. Beth serves as a faculty member for the American Academy of Facial Esthetics where she teaches botox and dermal filler techniques, as well as, TMJ and Orofacial pain to dentists and physicians. She frequently teaches in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami. She loves learning and believes continuing education is the key to a successful practice. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), and an active member and Fellow of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE).

Dr. Beth is involved in multiple community service organizations where she serves in leadership roles. She enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, reading, traveling, and relaxing at the beach.

Tammy Smith

Dental Hygienist

My name Is Tammy Smith. I am a dental hygienist and I have been a member of Terry and Beths team for 19 years now. Over these 19 years I have developed great friendships with every member of our team and I have been blessed to work with my best friend since 10th grade, Amy Toole; our 20 year veteran assistant. I have also built great relationships with my patients many of which have been coming to see me for the 19 years I have been here. I enjoy learning about my patients and watching their families grow. I live in Cave Spring Ga with my husband of 19 years and our 16 year old daughter. I enjoy running and most any activity outside. Last year I ran my first marathon which was a very humbling experience. I do have one tip to leave you with…When it comes to your teeth – floss the ones you want to keep 🙂

Mylinda Amos

Dental Hygienist

I’m Mylinda, and I’ve been working with Dr. Terry and Dr. Beth at Todays’s dentistry for 14 years. The staff here is a close knit team and we’ve become lifelong friends. The aspect of my job I enjoy most is interacting with patients. It’s not just about teeth, it’s about meeting needs and developing relationships within the community. I find I have at least one point of common interest with everyone I meet. My main interests are gardening and travel with my husband and son.

April McDaniel

Dental Hygienist

My name is April McDaniel and I have been a dental hygienist for 26 years. I’ve been with the Slocum’s almost 15 years now. I am married with 4 children. I enjoy working out, date nights and traveling. I LOVE what I do, providing beautiful healthy smiles to the Cartersville community. I have the most wonderful patients whom I have developed friendships with and get so excited to see them on their next visit to catch up! We have an amazing work family here that I am blessed to be a part of.
